The elected governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta Mir, announced this Tuesday the appointment of Vice Admiral of Infantry, Francisco Sánchez González, as head of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of the state. This appointment aims to reinforce security in Puebla by leveraging the military and security experience of the vice admiral.
In a press conference, Armenta emphasized that Sánchez González is a prominent leader in the Mexican Navy and that his experience makes him the ideal candidate to lead the SSP. His appointment was possible thanks to the authorization of the Presidency of the Republic, considering his high rank and training in the Presidential General Staff.
Francisco Sánchez González is a hydrographic engineer from the Naval Military School, with a specialization in naval command and a master's degree in national security. He has held important roles in the National Research and Security Center (Cisen) and has received international training in Spain and the United States on security and strategy issues.
The vice admiral has led the infantry unit of the Secretariat of the Navy, responsible for the security of Mexican coasts and ports. It is expected that his background and knowledge will contribute to strengthening security strategies in Puebla and improving collaboration with federal authorities in crime prevention and the fight against insecurity.
The inauguration of Alejandro Armenta is scheduled for December 15, the date on which Sánchez González will officially take up his new position at the head of the Secretariat of Public Security of the state.
