Impact of Alimony on Querétaro

The Judicial Power of the state of Querétaro reported that 534 million pesos are managed annually in deposits for alimony payments, with 15 people registered in the National Register of Alimony Obligations (RNOA). César Israel Soto Campos, councilor, detailed that 1,800 cases are received in family courts each year, with a little over 30% related to alimony.

"We are talking about around 1,800 cases per court that are received annually," highlighted Soto Campos. However, these figures do not indicate that there are only 15 debtors in the state, but rather that they are the only ones who have requested their registration in the RNOA, which must be requested by the involved parties.

In case of non-compliance, the judge must be informed, who will grant a deadline to make the payments. If not complied with, registration on the platform can proceed, which is updated monthly on the 5th. In this situation, the presiding magistrate Braulio Guerra mentioned that 34% of the family court's work is being diverted to civil courts due to the workload, thus highlighting the need for a new family court.
