Querétaro Remains Safe, Affirms Security Secretary

The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of Mexico, Omar García Harfuch, stated that Querétaro is a safe entity and highlighted the close coordination that has been strengthened between the state and the federation, especially after the unfortunate events in Cantaritos.

Regarding the violence in Guanajuato, García Harfuch mentioned that work has been done jointly with the Secretary of Citizen Security of Querétaro, leading to significant arrests and more actions are expected in this direction. Although he did not specify the types of crimes that require more attention or the most problematic areas of the state, he emphasized that improvements in security matters have been observed.

The official also addressed the situation regarding the departure of 200 members of the National Guard from Querétaro, sent to the northern border, assuring that it should not have a significant negative impact on the region or on other states. García Harfuch pointed out that there is constant communication between the security cabinet, Sedena, Navy, National Guard, and state police, which has allowed for significant arrests against crime and organized crime.

During his visit to the state to commemorate the 108th anniversary of the Constitution of the United Mexican States, Secretary García Harfuch reaffirmed the commitment to continue working in coordination to maintain safety in Querétaro.
