The renovation works of the exterior lighting of the Alameda Hidalgo in Querétaro show a progress of 10%, according to the Secretary of Public Works of the municipality, Francisco Villegas. It is expected to be completed by the end of May or early June. The cost of the project will be 7 million pesos and will include the installation of 150 luminaires and 94 poles of 4 or 5 meters around the perimeter of the Alameda and the median of Avenida Pasteur, between Zaragoza and Constituyentes.
The official highlighted that the project has the approval of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) and that the works are proceeding as planned. He also mentioned that the base of the monumental model that had been out of use for three years has been removed, which posed a risk and obstructed pedestrian traffic in the area.
"The current investment in the work is around 7 million pesos, with a 10% progress. Our goal is to complete the work by May or June," said Villegas Solís.
The renovation of the Alameda is part of a municipal project to keep it open 24 hours a day, a measure expected to be implemented by mid-year.
