The municipal government of Querétaro announced an investment of 79 million pesos for the creation of a community transportation system in the Santa Rosa Jáuregui delegation, which will benefit more than 20 communities for free.
The municipal president, Felipe Fernando Macías, reported that the system will have 20 van-type units in the first phase. These units will primarily circulate in the northern area of the delegation, covering high-traffic locations such as the Querétaro Industrial Park and the Santa Rosa Jáuregui Polytechnic University. Additionally, the units will be connected to the Qrobús transportation system, allowing users to access other routes, enjoy free transfers, and other benefits of state transportation.
In Macías Olvera's words: “We will start with 20 vans, mainly in the northern area near the Industrial Park, which is where we have been requested the most. This community transportation strategy is linked to Qrobús, connecting throughout the transportation system and will exponentially increase benefits for the people of Santa Rosa Jáuregui.”
It was detailed that the beneficiary communities will be Hacienda Santa Rosa, Santa Catarina, San Isidro Buenavista, Corea, El Puerto, Puerto Aguirre, Pinto, Pintillo, La Estacada, Jofre, Jofrito, Palo Alto, La Gotera, La Ciénega, La Versolilla, La Palma, Rincón de Ojo de Agua, La Cantera, and La Luz. The night transport will also begin its route soon.
Moreover, there are plans to implement a similar transportation system in the Historic Center for free, which will work together with the Qrobús system. The official presentation of this system is scheduled for March 15, where more details about the routes and schedules will be revealed.
