The integration of Artificial Intelligence in washing machines has represented a significant advancement in household chores. These appliances not only identify the type and level of dirt on clothes but also automatically adjust the amount of detergent and select the optimal cycle, achieving efficient water and energy consumption, in addition to notifying the user about potential failures before they become costly problems.
One of the manufacturing locations for these products is the Samsung plant in Querétaro, which is a key technology export center for America. This plant focuses on high-tech products and supports the "AI for All" initiative, promoting the use of artificial intelligence in Latin America. With a production capacity of more than 16,000 units daily, the plant produces over four million appliances annually, allocating 20% to the Mexican market and exporting the remaining 80% to North and Latin America.
Byong Jin Kong, president of the Samsung Electronics Mexico Production (SEM-P) division, stated: "This plant is not just a production center, but a symbol of commitment to innovation whether in the manufacturing of appliances with cutting-edge technology and a high level of quality or in maintaining a more efficient, safe, and sustainable production mode."
In addition to smart washers, the plant also produces other lines of appliances, including Family Hub refrigerators, Bespoke refrigerators, Top Mount Freezers, as well as Bespoke washers and dryers, AI Laundry Hub, and top-loading washers. The use of advanced technologies such as automated guided vehicles (AGV), high-precision industrial robots, and quality control tools is a distinctive feature of this plant, ensuring products with the highest standards.
Some of the most innovative features incorporated into smart washers include AI Wash & Dry, AI Energy, AI Ecobubble, AI Home, and Heat Pump. These technologies allow for optimal washing and drying, monitoring of energy consumption, adaptation of detergent for effective cleaning, control through a touchscreen, and faster drying of clothes using sensors.
