The Women's Secretariat in Querétaro has provided 243 services for gender violence. The head, Vanesa Garfias, highlights efforts in legal and psychological assistance, as well as new campaigns to strengthen these modules.


Report on Assistance to Women for Gender Violence

In the current municipal administration, the Secretary of Women has provided 243 services to women in Querétaro who have suffered gender-based violence, according to the head of the department, Vanesa Garfias. During November and December of last year, 138 services were provided, of which 69 were legal support and 69 were psychological support, with 43 of these being provided for the first time.

So far in 2025, 105 services have been carried out, where 77 were legal and 28 were psychological, in addition to 40 new cases. Garfias highlighted that the Secretary has support modules in all 7 delegations, as well as in its main office located in the Universo 2000 neighborhood. "We are going to start campaigns to strengthen the services so that the modules remain active and all women who need help can approach the Secretary with confidence," she mentioned.

Additionally, the official detailed that last year, one case had to be referred to the Secretary of Women at the state level. Garfias Rojas emphasized that her department operates as a first point of contact for women in situations of medium or medium-high level gender-based violence.
