Proposals to Protect Childhood in Queretaro

The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri, announced a proposal to prohibit access to social networks for minors under 14 years old. This initiative is part of a set of measures aimed at protecting children and adolescents in an increasingly digital environment. Inspired by international experiences, Kuri also proposes the restriction of cell phone use in schools, following practices from countries like the United States.

In conjunction with PAN senators, a bill will be presented to prohibit cell phone use among elementary and middle school students within schools. The main objective of this proposal is to combat cyberbullying and create an educational environment free from technological distractions that are harmful to the emotional health of minors.

Governor Kuri has emphasized the importance of protecting children and adolescents, seeking to create safer spaces for their comprehensive development. This measure also aims to prevent exposure to inappropriate content resulting from the improper use of mobile devices in classrooms. The debate on the impact of technology on education has regained relevance with this proposal in Querétaro.
