In Querétaro, a commemorative event was held in solidarity with Teuchitlán, Jalisco, where a tent was set up with 400 pairs of shoes and candles as a symbol of reflection on the pain and uncertainty faced by the families of missing persons. This event took place after the discovery of what has been classified as an extermination camp in Teuchitlán.

Yadira González, a representative of the Desaparecidos Querétaro collective, expressed her sorrow for the situation nationwide and criticized the stance of President Claudia Sheinbaum for not collaborating with families in search efforts. Additionally, González warned about the presence of extermination camps in different parts of the country, mentioning places like the gallera in Veracruz, the hotel of terror in San Fernando, and the pig farm in Guerrero, among others.

In this context, emphasis was placed on the situation in Querétaro, where despite the belief that there is only one clandestine location, the collective has discovered numerous graves that have not been investigated due to a lack of transparency. All families with missing loved ones were called to unite and go search for them, as Querétaro is neither an exception nor will it be in this issue.

During the event, participants expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of action from authorities in the search for missing persons, demanded a fight against the culture of drug trafficking, and condemned the murders of parents searching for their loved ones. Indigenous rituals, as well as those from evangelical and Catholic churches, were also performed to pray for the rest of the deceased, the missing, and those who cry out for justice.

Various LGBT+ community groups, human rights defenders, organized civil society, and activists joined this activity to show their support and solidarity with families affected by the forced disappearance of people.
