Mexican security agents on Tuesday detained in the central state of Querétaro Ramón 'N', alias 'Moncho', who operated the criminal faction 'Los Lavadora' and was in charge of coordinating robberies of cargo trucks through aggressions and deprivation of liberty in the state. According to the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, in the operations, five other people, members of the same criminal group, were also detained. This group is also linked to drug dealing, kidnapping, hydrocarbon theft, house robberies, and homicide. 'During the operations, a weapon, cartridges, a trailer, and doses of drugs were secured,' the official pointed out in a message on his social networks. In a separate statement, the SSPC specified that, derived from an investigation file, search warrants were executed in four properties located in the municipality of Santiago de Querétaro, where the six alleged criminals were detained. 'In the searches, weapons, cartridges of various calibers, wrappers with a substance similar to drugs, vehicles, electronic devices, computer equipment, and diverse material used to commit crimes were secured,' it stated. The operations involved agents from the SSPC, the Navy and Defense Secretariats, the Attorney General's Office, the National Guard, the Prosecutor's Office, and the State Police. Since February 2025 and until January 13, the Government of Mexico, thanks to the 'Northern Border Operation' —agreed with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to avoid tariffs on Mexico— has detained 10,713 people and 119.3 tons of drugs have been seized, including 601.8 kilograms of fentanyl.
