The president of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, praised the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during his visit to Tabasco. At an event accompanied by the Morena governor Javier May and Secretary Jesús Esteva, Sheinbaum praised López Obrador, highlighting the construction of a national movement that led to the Fourth Transformation in Mexico.
Sheinbaum mentioned that insecurity and violence in the country are results of "neoliberalism" which, according to her, impoverished the Mexican people and eroded ethical values for over 30 years. In contrast, she praised López Obrador's governing style since he took office, calling it a lesson in Mexican humanism.
During the inauguration of a water treatment plant in the Tabasco capital, Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of strengthening the economy from the bottom up and mentioned that, despite not being originally from Tabasco, she feels a great appreciation for the region. She underscored the importance of agroecological production and fair trade in the development of the country.
