Pablo Joaquín Gómez Orozco, 19 years old, was involuntarily recruited in Tepic, Nayarit, on March 30, 2023. His intention was to find a temporary job for Holy Week and apply his knowledge in leadership and computer programming. That day, he met with recruiters in front of the cathedral in Tepic and disappeared.
His mother, Alejandrina Orozco Romano, reported that the last time she heard from him was on April 7, when he contacted her through Facebook seeking help, indicating that he was being threatened and was scared. Despite this evidence, authorities have not effectively initiated the search for Pablo.
Surprisingly, Pablo managed to communicate with his mother several times, revealing details about his whereabouts and how he was recruited. Nevertheless, the Attorney General’s Offices of Nayarit and Zacatecas have declared themselves incompetent in the case, leaving the mother without answers and in distress.
Pablo mentioned that he was being taken to Jalisco, Zacatecas, and other states, but local and federal authorities have not taken decisive actions to find him. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the family continues to face obstacles and negligence in the search for the young man.
Pablo's mother insists that the authorities must act with seriousness and responsibility in cases like her son's, avoiding political maneuvering and prioritizing the search for the missing. The lack of coordination between state prosecutors and the mere simulation of coordination only aggravates the suffering of affected families.
