Senator from MORENA, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, abandoned an interview after being questioned about the controversies surrounding him in the last year, from traveling in business class to buying a house in Tepoztlán, allegedly valued at 12 million pesos. The Morenista senator defended himself against both allegations. According to his explanation, they spoke with the microphone off and then continued with the recording.

“Thank you,” said José Luis Guerra as Noroña exits the frame and appears to be leaving the place. For a brief moment, Guerra gave the impression that the interview would end; however, the dialogue resumed.

“Mansion!” Noroña exclaimed. “We would have done the interview in the mansion in Tepoztlán... it's not a mansion. But if that's the point of the conversation, it makes no sense,” he stated.

Noroña stated that there is a campaign against him and that these are “racist and classist” comments. However, the “guinda” party promotes a discourse contrary to a lifestyle with luxuries, since the majority of the population faces an unequal scenario compared to that of politicians.

“The compañera president has mixed the personal with the political, which is incorrect. Public policies must be austere,” he said.

He stated that he lives on his income as a senator and his income from YouTube, and has no problem with the good things that life gives you if you earn them legitimately.

The rest of the interview between José Luis Guerra and Fernández Noroña included a recount of the senator's career. Among the topics they addressed: his training, family context, political career, the time he served as president of the Board of Directors of the Senate, and the aggression by Alejandro Moreno.

He also defended the alliance between Morena, PT, and PVEM after weeks in which electoral reform and President Claudia Sheinbaum's Plan B caused divisions in Congress. In his opinion, an error was made in not building consensus with his allies before presenting the initiatives, as that was the only way to achieve their approval without resistance.

“It would be a mistake to break it; it has been an alliance that allowed us to win the presidency of compañero president López Obrador... a legislative alliance that has allowed us all the reforms, including the one for the Judicial Power to be elected,” he commented.

He emphasized that he does not incur any irregularities and that these expenses are covered by his salary as a senator and donations he receives on social networks.
