Key Logistics Collaboration in Mexico

The national postal service of Mexico collaborates with Mexicana Airlines to improve logistics and support economic development in Tijuana. This partnership promotes a more efficient delivery system, benefiting local businesses and communities.

Correos de México and the Mexican airline have established a strategic collaboration to modernize the postal system of the country and strengthen national air logistics infrastructure. This agreement, which began operating in Baja California, aims to initially improve postal service through the first air transfer of mail and correspondence between Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) and Tijuana.

The General Director of Correos de México, Violeta Abreu González, mentioned during the protocol event that this alliance between two state institutions represents a step towards operational efficiency and the transformation of postal service. She highlighted the importance of using the historic brand of Mexicana to drive the modernization of service, noting that this is an action that combines efficiency, transformation, and a human and supportive approach.

The national network of Correos de México offices will play a fundamental role in the expansion of this collaboration, also strengthening the logistics infrastructure for the benefit of the population and promoting regional economic development. Senator Guadalupe Chavira, the Undersecretary of Communications and Transport, Tania Carro Toledo, and the leader of the National Union of Postal Workers of Mexico (SEPOMEX), Manuel Acevedo González, were present at the event.

"This scheme is not just about transportation but about transformation with a social purpose," emphasized Abreu González. The alliance between Correos de México and Mexicana will allow the former to "give wings to the social vision," reaching more homes with renewed logistics and a more effective state air infrastructure. General Leobardo Ávila Bojórquez, General Director of Mexicana, noted that this collaboration is key to the country's development, aligning with the objectives of the Mexico Plan.

The mayor of Tijuana, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, emphasized the importance of the initiative to strengthen connectivity, support micro and small businesses, as well as positioning Tijuana as a strategic point in national logistics. Immediate benefits of this alliance include reducing delivery times by more than 50%, reactivating air services for parcels and mail, and greater efficiency and coverage with a social focus.

This model will be progressively implemented throughout the country, prioritizing the most remote regions where greater agility in the delivery of correspondence and packages is required. The collaboration between Correos de México and Mexicana represents a significant step towards modernizing postal services in Mexico, benefiting both businesses and individuals who rely on these services daily.
