Man Arrested in Baja California for Child Abuse

Agents from the Baja California Citizen Security Secretariat arrested a 22-year-old man identified as Antonio “N”, from Guerrero, in the La Gloria neighborhood for his alleged responsibility for child abuse against his two four-year-old children, whom he appeared to have tied. The police intervention was the result of a citizen's report that alerted authorities to the abuse. Upon arriving at the home, officers found one of the children crying and tied by the feet, while the girl remained tied by her hands. Following the arrest, security officials interviewed the mother of the children, who arrived at the scene. The woman stated that the physical assaults on the minors represented a recurring behavior by the now-detained individual, stating that “it was not the first time” this person had abused the children. Antonio “N” was transferred and handed over to the State Attorney General's Office, which will be responsible for determining his legal situation and conducting the pertinent investigations into the children's family environment. The minors were placed under protection to receive the necessary care following the incident reported in the aforementioned jurisdiction.
