During major security operations involving forces from all three levels of government, Kevin “N”, alias ‘El Fresa’, leader of a criminal group affiliated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was arrested in Tlalmanalco.
In two separate actions, personnel from the Unified Command Zone East, State of Mexico Security Secretariat (SSEM), and local police also detained seven people, including two minors.
During preventive patrols in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, state and municipal officers detected a group of people with evasive behavior handling plastic bags. Upon noticing the police, they attempted to flee on two motorcycles.
After being detained and searched, officers found 72 bags of marijuana, 374 wrappers of the drug known as crystal meth, and two mobile phones.
Those apprehended at the scene were Giovanni “N”, 30, Jesús “N”, 20, Víctor “N”, 19, and two minors, who stated they belonged to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and were involved in drug sales, extortion (‘cobro de piso’), and kidnappings in the municipalities of Tlalmanalco, Chalco, and Juchitepec, all located in the eastern part of the State of Mexico.
In this regard, authorities indicated that these individuals may be linked to the homicide of a woman that occurred on February 4.

In a second operation in the Bella Vista neighborhood, Kevin ‘N’, alias ‘El Fresa’, 31, was captured. He is suspected of being the leader of the criminal cell and was found with Aline ‘N’, 26.
At the time of his arrest, a 9mm caliber rifle with a magazine and five live cartridges, 40 crystal meth wrappers, and a mobile phone were secured.
Linked to Presumed Feminicide in Tlalmanalco
In this context, sources from the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office stated that the information links the detainees to the discovery of a woman's body on February 4 in Tlalmanalco.
“Preliminary investigations suggest the homicide was supposedly ordered by ‘El Fresa’ due to turf wars,” they reported.
The seven detainees were transferred to the Public Ministry agency in Chalco, where the corresponding investigation file was initiated to determine their legal status.
On February 6, also in Tlalmanalco, located in the volcano zone, elements of the State of Mexico Security Secretariat detained five people allegedly linked to the CJNG.
These individuals are connected to the sale of prohibited substances and the murder of a young man whose body was found hidden in a septic tank. This incident alarmed residents due to the level of violence and the method used to cover up the crime.
Following this arrest, the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office stated that investigations would continue to determine if the detainees are part of a CJNG cell operating in the area, as well as to establish their possible involvement in other violent acts and crimes against public health.
On March 31, Ramiro Ulises “N”, alias Commander Galindo, a regional leader of a CJNG criminal cell in the eastern State of Mexico, was linked to a process for express kidnapping for extortion.
This subject is accused of intercepting a victim at a gas station in the municipality of Otumba, along with three other armed individuals. After depriving them of liberty and transporting them to another municipality in the region, the victim was forced to collaborate with the criminal organization.
Also on March 20 in the municipality of Lerma, Marco Antonio “N”, alias “El Custodio”, was arrested. He is believed to have started his criminal activities with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and later joined the Michoacán Family.
