A woman and her six-month-old baby were on an ambulance after their car was involved in an accident in Tlakepake. The incident occurred on Lasaro Cardenas Avenue in the El Alamo area. The driver was heading west on the overpass, lost control, and fell a height of approximately three meters onto the oncoming lane, where they collided with an incoming vehicle.
The unfortunate event took place around 11:10 when the Civil Protection and Fire Department of Jalisco received a report about the incident at the intersection of Lasaro Cardenas Avenue, almost at the entrance to the road leading to Chapala. Rescuers noticed a white car with a damaged front bumper in the oncoming lane and an incoming vehicle, with which the collision occurred.
"Upon arrival at the scene, we found that a collision had occurred between the cars. It was heading west and fell into the oncoming lane; the woman, 35 years old, and her six-month-old baby were in the car, both suffered injuries," said firefighter Jonathan Martinez.
The woman was in a state of shock from the fall, while her baby was seriously injured and had to be hospitalized urgently. Both injured individuals were transported to a medical facility in satisfactory condition with stable vitals.
After the incident, movement on Lasaro Cardenas Avenue toward the westbound direction was temporarily paralyzed.
