Plane Crash in Toluca

Authorities in the State of Mexico responded to the crash of a small plane registered in the San Pedro Totoltepec area, near Toluca International Airport, and activated an emergency operation and a preventive closure of the area due to dense smoke. The State Public Security Secretariat reported through C5 on its social media that the accident occurred at the intersection of Calle Industria Automotriz and Miguel Alemán Boulevard, where ambulances, patrol cars, and emergency personnel were deployed. The department asked the population to avoid circulating in the area and to allow free passage for emergency services while operations continue at the scene. The incident was reported to the 911 emergency line by witnesses at the scene, who posted images of the event on social media. Dense smoke was observed at the site, so security and civil protection personnel worked to secure the perimeter and rule out additional risks. To date, authorities have not officially reported any injuries or fatalities, nor the causes that may have caused the aircraft to crash. The State of Mexico Public Security Secretariat indicated that the available information is preliminary, and as emergency and verification operations progress at the site, official information will be released to clarify what happened.
