Man Shot in Toluca After Million-Peso Robbery

A man was injured by a gunshot after being robbed of one million pesos in cash during a robbery that occurred this Wednesday in the Azteca neighborhood, in Toluca, State of Mexico. The incident took place around noon in the vicinity of a bank branch at Plaza San Fermín, next to Heriberto Enríquez Avenue. The plaza houses BBVA, Banamex, and Baco Azteca banks within an Elektra branch. According to surveillance camera footage shared on social media, the victim was carrying a backpack with the cash. Subsequently, he was intercepted by a subject wearing a white hoodie. According to preliminary information, the criminal approached the man as he was heading to make a deposit, struggling with him to snatch the money. During the altercation, the assailant fired a gun at the victim. Immediately after the shot, a second accomplice appeared on the scene on a white motorcycle, onto which the aggressor got with the loot to flee. So far, there have been no arrests reported for the robbery.
