These weather conditions are due to the presence of two low-pressure systems, the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, and instability at mid-levels of the atmosphere.
In contrast, high temperatures are expected in some areas, with values of 40 to 45 degrees Celsius for Michoacán, Guerrero, and Oaxaca, and 35 to 40 degrees Celsius for southern Sonora, southwestern Chihuahua, western Durango, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Morelos, southwestern Puebla, and Chiapas. Other regions such as Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, southern Zacatecas, southwestern State of Mexico, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo will register temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.
The National Water Commission (Conagua) issued a notice for the Valley of Mexico, indicating that on the morning of Thursday, January 6, there will be scattered clouds and a cool to fresh environment in the highlands of the State of Mexico, with temperatures ranging from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon, a temperate environment with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and the possibility of isolated rains in both entities is expected, accompanied by lightning, mainly in the State of Mexico. Additionally, north winds of 10 to 25 kilometers per hour are forecasted, with gusts that could reach 45 kilometers per hour.
For Mexico City, a minimum temperature of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 24 to 26 degrees Celsius is expected, with an environment varying between temperate and cloudy with potential for isolated rains and moderate winds.
