New Appointments in the State of Mexico Administration

The Governor of the State of Mexico swore in new officials in key areas, including health, education, and human rights. The key appointment is Celina Castañeda de la Lanza as the new Secretary of Health.


The Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, formally incorporated new profiles into her administration through the swearing-in of various officials in strategic areas, including health, education, substantive equality, and legal counsel. Among the appointments stands out the designation of Celina Castañeda de la Lanza as head of the Health Secretariat of the State of Mexico, in the context of strengthening the health sector's institutions. The new Secretary of Health, Celina Castañeda de la Lanza, has a Master's degree in Health Institutions Management and direction, as well as experience in the state public sector. In her career, she served as General Director in the Coordination of Advance Wishes of the Health Secretariat, which has allowed her to consolidate experience in health policies and institutional management. This appointment is part of a strategy aimed at strengthening the leadership of the health system in the entity. In the educational sector, the state administration incorporated Guillermo Calderón Vega as General Director of Higher Education, who previously served as Undersecretary of Government and head of the Human Rights Unit of the state Prosecutor's Office. Likewise, Margarita Camacho Gómez assumed the position of General Director of Conalep State of Mexico, with previous experience as a Delegate and Academic Sub-director in this institution. Margarita Rocío Serrano Barrios was appointed Undersecretary of Higher Education and Normal Education, having held relevant positions in the educational field, including the general direction of the state Conalep and the coordination of federal upper secondary education in Hidalgo. At the basic level, Rita Yáñez Garnica joined as Undersecretary of Basic Education, with experience in managerial and educational research functions.
