Dante Delgado, national coordinator of Movimiento Ciudadano, revealed that he suffers from stomach cancer and underwent surgery in August on medical advice. He was recently discharged after the intervention. Delgado made the announcement during the IV State Convention of Movimiento Ciudadano in Xalapa, Veracruz, his birthplace, where he will stay for a few days after informing his family about his illness.
"Before the doctor told me I had a cancer problem in the stomach, I had scheduled events," commented Delgado during the event. On August 21, he shared on his social media that he was undergoing preventive checks due to a family history of cancer. After a clinical analysis, the doctors recommended the surgery that was successfully performed on August 14.
In a message, Delgado thanked the doctors, including Carlos Chan Núñez and Alejandro Alfaro, as well as his work team, Hospital Médica Sur, and all the medical staff for the care received during his illness.
