A 17-year-old student, Miranda Sherlyn Sánchez Escobar, from the Centro de Estudios Tecnológicos Industrial y de Servicios (CETIS) 122, has been reported missing after she was last seen in the municipality of Xochitepec. No specific distinguishing features have been reported. The CETIS where she studies is located in Xoxocotla, an indigenous municipality southwest of Morelos, while the disappearance occurred in Xochitepec, just over 13 kilometers away, in the Poniente region of the state, an area near the capital and neighboring municipalities.
Authorities continue to disseminate her information through official media and social networks, urging the public to provide any information that could help locate the student. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Morelos (FGE) has activated the Alba Protocol for her location. According to the official flyer, Miranda Sherlyn is 1.65 meters tall, has a slender build, light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and long, straight black hair to her waist.
«We will search until we find you!» This is the message from the Xochitepec City Council and its Search Unit for Persons, which shared the flyer on social media. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a long-sleeved purple blouse, a military green school blouse with the CETIS crest in wine color, military green school pants, and sky blue tennis shoes with white.
The disappearance occurs in a context of concern for the safety of women in Morelos. Since March 2, students from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos have been occupying the facilities following the femicides of Kimberly Joselin Ramos and Karol Toledo, students of the Accounting and Law faculties. During the March 8 marches in Cuernavaca, feminist collectives and students carried banners with messages such as 'I want to go to study safely' and 'I want to study and return home'.
