The fiscal stimuli for gasoline for the week of January 25 to 31 have been announced. Magna gasoline will have a fiscal stimulus of 19.3%, which represents a decrease of two points compared to the previous week. The price of the Special Tax on Products and Services (IEPS) will be 5.2 pesos per liter.
On the other hand, premium gasoline will not receive fiscal stimuli this week, continuing its negative streak. Each week, the corresponding assistance percentages for different types of gasoline are published in the Official Federal Gazette (DOF).
The Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) has intensified its operation to place banners and seals at gas stations that maintain high prices. This effort aims to prevent abusive increases in fuel prices.
The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) continues to provide fiscal stimuli for fuels, thus maintaining control over prices to avoid excessive increases.
Regarding diesel, a fiscal stimulus of 29.16% has been announced for the week in question, which represents an increase compared to the previous week. This translates to an IEPS price of 5 pesos per liter starting January 25.
Claudia Sheinbaum's government has assured that it will oppose 'gasolinazos', guaranteeing that there will be no real increases in gasoline prices. The fiscal stimuli provide relief to drivers in paying fuel-related taxes.
