A recent scandal has revealed that many film projects, including very popular movies, are using artificial intelligence (AI) in some way. Among the mentioned films are 'Late Night with the Devil', 'Furiosa', 'Alien: Romulus', and 'The Brutalist'.
The director of 'The Brutalist' admitted in an interview that he used AI to improve the accents of the actors and other aspects of the film. Additionally, instead of hiring artists to recreate buildings, he opted to use this technology to streamline the production process. It has also been noted that AI was used to enhance the Spanish diction of Selena Gomez.
Other directors like Cameron Cairnes and Colin Cairnes acknowledged having used AI in their horror film. In 'Alien: Romulus', AI was used to recreate the character of Ash, previously played by the late actor Ian Holm, generating a significant debate among the audience.
In the case of 'Furiosa', AI was employed to make the child and adult versions of the character more similar, modifying the actresses' faces. Even in 'Kung Fu Panda 4', the creation of a villain character was refined using AI due to the complexity of its animated details.
These examples highlight the growing use of artificial intelligence in the film industry, creating controversy regarding ethics and creativity in filmmaking.
