Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Contribute 10.2% of Jobs in Nuevo León

In 2023, micro, small, and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises represented 30% of jobs in the manufacturing sector. However, in 2024, factors such as political and economic uncertainty negatively impacted their performance, decreasing their contribution to the sector's aggregate.

For the year 2025, with the aim of strengthening the contribution of manufacturing MSMEs to employment, authorities are urged to focus their attention on these companies in public policy. Based on data from IMSS, CAINTRA Nuevo León reported that MSMEs in the manufacturing sector in the state generated 2,278 jobs in 2024, a figure lower than the 7,000 jobs contributed in 2023.

CAINTRA noted that, compared to the 22,441 jobs generated by the manufacturing industry in Nuevo León last year, MSMEs accounted for 10.2% of the total. The organization emphasized the importance of providing greater financing in guarantees and factoring for working capital and investment with competitive rates and terms.

Additionally, it highlighted the need to expedite the elimination, simplification, and digitalization of procedures at all three levels of government that currently hinder the operational capacity of MSMEs and their contribution to innovation in Mexico's value chains.
