According to figures published by the IMSS, the Mexican Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Caintra) in Nuevo León indicated the generation of 2,278 jobs by micro, small, and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector of the State during 2024. Although this figure is positive, it is lower than the nearly 7,000 jobs generated by these companies in 2023.
In 2024, MiPymes contributed 10.2% of the 22,441 jobs generated by the manufacturing industry in Nuevo León, while in 2023 their contribution was 30% of the total jobs in the sector.
Caintra highlighted that political and economic uncertainty complicated the performance of MiPymes in 2024, reducing their contribution to the sector. Therefore, the chamber emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of manufacturing MiPymes in job generation during 2025.
The chamber urged authorities to focus public policies on these companies, providing greater financing in guarantees and factoring for working capital and investment, with competitive rates and terms. Additionally, it stressed the need to accelerate the elimination, simplification, and digitization of government procedures that hinder the operational capacity and innovation of MiPymes in the country's value chains.
Regarding job creation by MiPymes in recent years, a downward trend is observed: 6,049 jobs in 2022, 6,922 in 2023, and 2,278 in 2024.
