In the midst of the adversity and uncertainty facing the country, entrepreneurship becomes a tool for economic growth in Mexico. According to an analysis by the platform Dinero.mx, six states stand out for offering the best opportunities and conditions for the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (mipymes).
99.1% of the companies in Nuevo León are mipymes, and its metropolitan area of Monterrey stands out for its manufacturing industry and proximity to the United States, making it a key point for ventures in technology, energy, and financial services. In the first half of 2024, eight thousand 529 new businesses were registered in the region, generating 76 thousand 291 jobs.
Jalisco, known as a technological hub, has Guadalajara as a startup center conducive to innovation in electronics, software development, and biotechnology. Meanwhile, 80.9% of employment in Puebla comes from mipymes focused on trade and goods sales. Querétaro, considered an emerging state, is distinguished by its cutting-edge industrial parks and its infrastructure for sectors such as automotive and manufacturing.
In the first quarter of 2024, companies in Nuevo León generated 36 thousand 731 formal jobs. These states offer opportunities in sectors such as digital commerce, technology, and tourism, as well as access to financing for mipymes as part of a national industrialization strategy.
One of the main drivers of mipyme growth is nearshoring, a strategy that leverages proximity to the United States to strengthen supply chains. Regions like Bajío, the southeast, and the north of the country, as well as Mexico City, have high potential to benefit from this phenomenon.
In the national context, these six states lead entrepreneurship in Mexico thanks to financial support programs like the "Crédito Colibrí Emprende" in the State of Mexico and the economic diversity of Mexico City.
