
The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) announced the launch of new hospital infrastructure in 12 states of the country, including Nuevo León, where nine hospitals and six Family Medicine Units (UMF) stand out. The new UMF in Juárez, NL, will have family medicine and nursing offices, as well as services for X-rays, Clinical Laboratory, Dental, Nutrition, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and Occupational Health.
The general director of IMSS, Zoé Robledo, mentioned that the completion of 14 hospitals is expected by 2024, with the most recent inaugurated in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. In addition, a hiring process for 7,500 specialist doctors will take place, and many positions are being offered for the new hospitals, including those in Nuevo León.
To strengthen the First Level of Care, six UMF with Continuous Medical Admission are being built nationwide, which will offer care seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The UMF La Joya in Coahuila and another in Puerto Libertad, Sonora, are also about to begin operations.
In another matter, the CAINTRA SME Commission in Nuevo León will meet with the delegate of the Federal Ministry of Labor to address issues related to compliance with labor regulations and inspections, as well as reviewing the Registry of Specialized Service Providers (REPSE).
Lastly, during an event in Nuevo León, Víctor Manuel Herrera Espinosa from the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives warned about a new executive order in the United States that labels those who make extortion payments in Mexico as accomplices of terrorism, which could affect the sending of remittances from Mexican territory to the United States.
