It is expected that the travel time by train from Felipe Ángeles International Airport to at least two routes, such as the Lechería and Pachuca segment, will be approximately 39 minutes. Andrés Lajous, CEO of the Regulatory Agency for Railway Transport (ARTF), has reported on the progress of each of these routes.

The Lechería-AIFA segment is 80% complete in construction, while the AIFA-Pachuca segment will see the start of construction for the connection in March. The planned stations will benefit municipalities such as Tizayuca, Temascalapa, Tepojaco, and Huitzila. The trains operating on this route will run at a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

Claudia Sheinbaum has acknowledged a delay in the construction of the suburban train to AIFA, announcing that military engineers will be responsible for its completion. In her words, "The Mexico-AIFA train had been assigned to the Suburban train, but due to the delay, construction will be completed by military engineers in agreement with the concessionaire CAF."

The AIFA train work was divided into two segments: one constructed by military engineers in the airport area and another managed by CAF that is facing slow execution. The passenger train was expected to be operational in 2023, but for various reasons, this has not been possible, according to President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Travelers heading to AIFA will have the option of using the suburban train that will be available this year, Sheinbaum assured. During a conference, it was reported that this suburban train will be ready for inauguration in the second half of 2025 and will have 7 stations, with Santa Lucía as the final terminal for the route from the Buenavista suburban train station.
