The delivery of the Pink Card, a state government program that will grant 6,000 pesos annually to women, began on February 13. However, misinformation and confusing instructions have caused chaos among the beneficiaries who fear they will not receive it on time. Governor Libia García acknowledged that her initial suggestions to collect the card without an appointment contributed to the disorder at distribution centers.
Subsequently, Rosario Corona clarified that the Pink Card distribution centers can only attend to a maximum of 500 people without an appointment. In light of this situation, the governor amended her stance and emphasized the importance of attending only those with scheduled appointments to avoid overcrowding and ensure adequate care.
So far, nearly 600,000 women between the ages of 25 and 45 have registered to receive the Pink Card, according to data from the Secretariat of New Beginnings. The distribution of funds through this card will begin on February 28.
Regarding recommendations for beneficiaries, it is advised to attend only with a prior appointment, present the required documentation (INE, folio number or QR code, phone number, and email), and respect the established timings to avoid long waits and facilitate the service process.
The governor has assured that no woman will be left without her Pink Card and that, in case of delays in delivery, the funds will be granted retroactively to ensure that all beneficiaries receive the corresponding support.
