The Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) communicated to its employees the decision to remove appliances from its facilities due to constant energy problems and in accordance with the government's Republican Austerity Law. Among the devices to be removed are refrigerators, mini-fridges, microwave ovens, coffee makers, radios, fans, and other electrical equipment that generate heat through resistance.
According to the circular issued by the Treasury, the Administrative Coordination will carry out the removal of these appliances with the Directorate of Inventory Control and Disposal of Goods. Additionally, recommendations were made for workers to assist in reducing energy consumption, such as turning off and unplugging unnecessary electronic devices, maximizing natural light, turning off lights in unused areas, and minimizing the use of power strips, among other measures.
These energy-saving actions will come into effect starting Monday, February 17, according to the Secretariat's report. The circular, signed by the administrative coordinator Edgar Romero García, requested the collaboration of the employees of the Undersecretariat of Expenditures to contribute to the savings of electrical energy in the agency. For questions or clarifications, workers can contact the Coordinator of Planning, Operations, and Services, María del Socorro de Paz Fuentes, or the Director of Operations and Services, Emiliano Barros Dávila.
