The governor of Nuevo León is implementing an action plan to boost the local economy, including tax incentives and the simplification of procedures. The promotion of local products is highlighted through the initiative "Made in Nuevo León."
Additionally, he is in talks with authorities from neighboring states to generate support in the United States Congress and change the stance on the reforms driven by President Donald Trump. The goal is to demonstrate the security and transparency of Nuevo León, with the only customs point in Mexico having no records of crimes such as drug trafficking or illegal immigration.
The governor emphasized the importance of security in the region, mentioning that Nuevo León is in the green light in relation to the United States. He highlighted the need to close ranks with other Mexican border states and seek alliances with governors and U.S. congressmen to eliminate tariffs.
Regarding potential tariff reprisals, the governor assured that support measures for the local economy will be maintained, including the promotion of the technology industry. Additionally, he plans to conduct a trade mission in Europe to diversify markets and attract foreign investment.
Together with local companies, efforts are being made to strengthen local supply chains to face the impact of tariffs. The governor stated that these measures will be carried out regardless of possible agreements between President Claudia Sheinbaum, President Donald Trump, and future actions concerning tariffs.
