
The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) reported that during February of this year, Nuevo León continued to show growth in job creation by generating 18,165 new job positions. According to the agency, by the end of the second month of the year, Nuevo León had a total of 1,948,266 formal workers, which represents an increase of 0.94% compared to the previous month.
So far this year, Nuevo León is positioned as the leader in job creation at the national level, with 33,031 more positions than reported at the end of 2024. Following in the list are Jalisco, with 25,591 jobs created, and the State of Mexico, with 13,648 new positions.
Despite this positive performance, in the first two months of the current year, Nuevo León has generated 3,230 fewer jobs compared to the same period last year, when 36,261 new job positions were created. In year-on-year terms, February of this year showed an increase of 3.37%, which equates to 63,487 more jobs compared to February of the previous year, when the IMSS had a total of 1,884,779 registered jobs.
