According to the Confidential column published in El Financiero, it has been revealed that the head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), Rogelio Ramírez de la O, agreed with President Sheinbaum to remain in his position for only a brief period. In this context, it is noted that the change in Finance marks a favorable moment for Mexico, and it is speculated that the Undersecretary of Finance, Edgar Amador, will take this position.

Edgar Amador, born in Monclova, Coahuila, is an economist graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has a master's degree in the same discipline from the Colegio de México. He has been a professor at the Faculty of Economics of UNAM and served as the head of the Finance Ministry of Mexico City during the administration of Miguel Ángel Mancera. Additionally, he has experience in institutions such as the Bank of Mexico, where he was recognized as the best Economist in Latin America in 1998.

Regarding the possible recession in Mexico due to the tariffs imposed by the United States, the Undersecretary of Finance, Edgar Amador, has ruled out that the volatility in the markets and in the Mexican peso will cause a significant impact given Donald Trump's constant threat. Although he acknowledges the uncertainty, he rejects the possibility of a recession in the coming months, pointing to a moderation in the country's growth.

The resignation of Rogelio Ramírez de la O from the SHCP was confirmed, and it is expected that Edgar Amador Zamora will assume his position. Regarding new sources of income, taxes on imports of electronic platforms and minimization schemes are mentioned. Amador highlights the stability of financial variables and expresses confidence in the good future economic performance.

During the 33rd Plenary Meeting of the Consultative Councils of Banamex, Amador emphasized the solid financial base of the country for the year 2025 and the importance of maintaining the dynamics in revenue collection, relying on the digitalization of fiscal processes.
