
Carlos Baños Barrios has been appointed as the General Director of the Open Innovation and Development Platform of Jalisco (PLAi), with the vision of promoting innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship as drivers of economic and social development in the region. Baños expressed his commitment to evolve PLAi into an updated ecosystem centered on the needs of the Jalisco community, focusing on digital inclusion, the adoption of new technologies, and support for entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
In his new role, Baños aims to transform PLAi into an integrated, collaborative, and open ecosystem that offers spaces, programs, and technological educational tools to improve the quality of life for people in Jalisco. Additionally, he seeks to foster interest in entrepreneurship and the creative industries in new generations, with the goal of accompanying them in the realization of their projects in Ciudad Creativa Digital.
The new Director of PLAi emphasized the importance of working in collaboration with public and private institutions, companies, and universities, both locally and internationally, in order to position Jalisco as a global reference in innovation, science, and technology. Through strategic alliances, high-impact events, and educational programs, the aim is to strengthen the technological services of PLAi, expand its educational offerings, and bring its physical spaces closer to the entrepreneurial community.
Carlos Baños Barrios is an internationalist and specialist in government and public administration, with extensive experience in the development of strategic projects in public service. He has held leadership positions in the governments of Guadalajara and Zapopan, focusing on the promotion of the creative industries and the economic development of the region.
