Sinaloa Governor Confirms Payments to Farmers

In an interview, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya assured that pending payments to corn and wheat producers are scheduled for this month. He urged farmers to stay calm as payments will be fulfilled as promised, reaffirming the government's commitment to support the agricultural sector.

In Navolato, Sinaloa, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya assured that pending payments to corn and wheat producers will be made as scheduled. During the inauguration of the building of the State Pedagogical University of Sinaloa (UPES) Navolato extension, Rocha Moya mentioned that corn payments will begin this month, calming the producers and asking them to remain calm.

"These are already completed," emphasized the state leader referring to the corn payments. Additionally, he mentioned that the pending wheat payment, originally set for February 14, will be made next Tuesday. Regarding chickpeas, Rocha Moya assured that some buyers have confirmed their willingness to purchase them at the agreed price, while others are offering between 18 and 19 pesos per kilo. Therefore, he urged producers to organize themselves to negotiate better sales conditions.

As for the possibility of including chickpeas in the DIF food packages, the governor mentioned that it could be considered in the future. However, currently, the priority is to ensure the marketing of all production. The government of Sinaloa emphasized its commitment to the state's farmers, ensuring that supports and payments will be made as agreed, providing stability to the agricultural sector.
