The President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, assured during her morning press conference on Monday that the refunds for favorable balances from tax payments will be carried out in a timely manner, according to current legislation. She urged taxpayers to remain calm, stating that the process is guaranteed. "Taxpayers should not worry; tax refunds must be returned and will be returned on time within the framework of the law," she affirmed.
After the closure of April, the amount of tax collection will be reviewed, and the corresponding refunds will proceed, according to Sheinbaum. Regarding preliminary figures for collection and refunds, she reported that from January 1 to March 31, 4,868 million pesos were collected on platforms, while in 2024 the figure was 2,249 million pesos. "If we multiply that by four, it will amount to 20 billion pesos," she added.
The president reiterated that the refund process will be carried out as established by law and emphasized her commitment to complying with tax obligations towards taxpayers.
