President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo ruled out any possibility of "sabotage" at the Olmeca Dos Bocas Refinery, despite the interruption of operations at a catalytic plant that remains inactive. During her morning press conference on Tuesday, April 29, the president addressed questions regarding the alleged sabotage, assuring that it is not something as serious as has been suggested, calling it a "minor" problem. Sheinbaum stated that production of 100,000 barrels per day is about to resume.
"Located in Tabasco, Dos Bocas is one of the flagship projects initiated by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador," said the president. "It needs to be investigated; it's not that the refinery is not functioning, it's a minor problem. It was producing 100,000 barrels per day and is about to resume," emphasized Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
