Next Monday, May 12, the inauguration of the Elevated Trolebus Chalco-Santa Martha will take place, with plans to extend its service to Ixtapaluca, as announced by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, during her work visit to the State of Mexico. Sheinbaum presented a Comprehensive Plan that will involve an investment of up to 48 billion pesos and will cover 10 municipalities in the State of Mexico, including Tlalnepantla, Chalco, Ecatepec, Ixtapaluca, La Paz, and Texcoco, among others.
In her words, the leader expressed: "You have given a lot to the country, and this program is called Love is Repaid with Love, for all that you have given to Mexico." The plan mainly focuses on issues of drinking water, drainage, and health. For example, in Ecatepec, 20 wells that were previously inactive have been put into operation, and measures have been implemented in Chalco to prevent flooding.
In the health sector, the construction of 10 Expanded Services Health Centers, the oncology hospital in Ecatepec, and a 200-bed hospital between Nezahualcóyotl and Chimalhuacan was announced. In education, it is planned to build a university in each of the 10 municipalities in the State of Mexico and add 20 high schools, some of which will be new and others the result of the conversion of secondary schools to offer high school programs in the evening shift.
Regarding security, Sheinbaum mentioned that work is being done to implement a single command for the eastern part of the State of Mexico, with the aim of coordinating all municipal and state police forces. For his part, Armando Quintero, coordinator of the National Institute for Federalism and Municipal Development, reported that the actions planned in the 10 municipalities will have an investment of over 13.5 billion pesos, projecting a total figure that will exceed 48 billion pesos throughout the administration.
