Banorte's Strategy: Embracing Digital Transformation

Grupo Financiero Banorte is enhancing its services by focusing on digital transformation and hyper-personalization, targeting greater reach and customer satisfaction, including opening 50 new branches nationwide.

To address competitive challenges in the banking sector, Grupo Financiero Banorte has highlighted its ability to serve clients with diverse profiles, from those who prefer a human-digital service to those who avoid visiting physical branches.

In an interview with El Financiero before the 88th Banking Convention, Marcos Ramírez, CEO of Grupo Financiero Banorte, emphasized that digital transformation centered on hyper-personalization is one of the strategic priorities of the institution. By the end of 2024, they reported a 13 percent growth in mobile customers with more than 7.48 million users, compared to 2023, and a 45 percent increase in mobile transactions compared to the previous year.

Ramírez has expressed several times that in 2020 they foresaw the technological disruption that the banking sector would face and decided to accelerate digital transformation, partner with key players in the Fintech world, and focus on a digital bank to serve the young segment. Currently, they have concluded that the best strategy for Banorte is to consolidate their efforts through a comprehensive digital strategy, leveraging their scale and technological capabilities.

Despite digitalization, Banorte will continue to invest in technology, talent, and cybersecurity, with a solid policy reinforced by investments in governance, human, technological, and operational resources. In addition, the bank plans to open 50 branches across the country with an investment of approximately 500 million pesos to strengthen its physical infrastructure and consolidate its presence in key regions and communities, offering access to financial services.

In this sense, Banorte's commitment is to remain close to its customers through the various available service channels, combining its focus on digital transformation with the opening of new branches to ensure comprehensive and accessible service nationwide.
