Celebration Boosts Economy in Nuevo León

May 10th marks the highest influx for restaurants in Nuevo León, generating 750 million pesos in economic spillover. A boost to the local industry.

May 10th is the date with the highest attendance of the year for restaurants and consumption centers across the country, including Nuevo León (NL). To celebrate this day, an economic spill of 750 million pesos (mdp) is expected only in this entity, according to Kathia Guajardo Bosques, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Seasoned Foods (Canirac) in the state.

Guajardo highlighted that this figure reflects the solid and constant recovery of the sector, as well as the joint effort of thousands of establishments to offer memorable, safe, and quality experiences to the families of Nuevo León. May 10th not only has cultural and emotional value but also boosts the local economy benefiting suppliers of food, flowers, beverages, transport, and other complementary services.

The president of Canirac emphasized the accelerated growth experienced by the sector in recent years, with an estimated spill of 220 mdp in 2023 and 700 mdp in 2024, the latter partly driven by relevant sporting events. In this regard, she called for continued strengthening of the restaurant industry through public policies, partnerships with the private sector, and promotional strategies.

Javier Marrufo, manager of the restaurant Sibau, underscored the importance of taking advantage of these celebrations to reaffirm the commitment to quality, service, and standardization of protocols, in coordination with Canirac. "We must work so that each visit is memorable and that mothers remember that moment fondly," remarked Marrufo.
