Launch of Educational Validation System in Mexico

The Mexican Ministry of Education has launched the SERE platform to streamline the validation of higher education studies, ensuring efficiency and transparency in services.

Launch of Educational Validation System in Mexico

The Secretary of Public Education launched the System for Equivalence and Revalidation of Studies (SERE) with the aim of simplifying educational procedures such as the validation of subjects. This platform, accessible via the site sere.sep.gob.mx, is specifically for requests for revalidation and equivalence of higher studies, excluding those related to Normal Education or programs aimed at teacher training.

According to the Secretary of Education, Mario Delgado, between 2021 and 2024, more than 20,000 equivalences and 19,000 revalidations were issued nationwide through the General Directorate of Accreditation, Incorporation and Revalidation of the SEP.

The SERE will allow users to automatically track the progress of their procedures, thereby ensuring the effectiveness and transparency of the service. Additionally, it will facilitate the downloading of resolutions without intermediaries and the request for duplicates of previously issued resolutions, as the system safeguards users' information for easier review by the SEP.

The main functions of the SERE include the equivalence of studies carried out in the National Educational System, the revalidation of studies conducted abroad, and the issuance of duplicates of equivalences and revalidations resolutions. Initially, the implementation of the system will focus on the digitization of procedures in the DGAIR and will later extend its use to local educational authorities.

Mario Delgado, head of the SEP, assured that the System for Equivalence and Revalidation represents a significant technological improvement in terms of efficiency, economy, and user service.
