A representative of the tourism sector acknowledged that, under the current conditions, it is not viable to incentivize visits to areas where crude oil has been detected, although he expressed confidence that the situation will improve as cleanup efforts progress. Meanwhile, travel agencies are seeking to redirect the tourist offering to other destinations in the state to avoid completely disrupting the sector's dynamics during the holiday season. 'In the event that any provider included a trip to the beaches in their package, well, there are alternatives to offer another of the routes that were not contemplated to get there,' he stated. The state government, through the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (SEMADES), invited tourists to 'explore and get to know one of the wonders that the Eden of Mexico offers to those who visit it,' accompanied by a video. The material shows tours of beaches such as Los Pinos and Cangrejito Playero in Sánchez Magallanes, Cardenas municipality. However, the clip does not include beaches in Paraíso and Centla, the other two demarcations with beaches. For his part, the state Secretary of Health, Alejandro Calderón Alipi, stated that both the water and seafood products in Paraíso are safe, despite the spill at the Dos Bocas refinery that affected the Secoy River, which Petróleos Mexicanos has not yet finished cleaning. 'To date, there is no evidence that the spill has contaminated the region's marine products,' he affirmed. The official indicated that, according to studies by the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), there is no risk for bathers or for the consumption of fish and shellfish, and epidemiological surveillance is maintained to detect any possible impact. However, the official stance contrasts with that of the tourism sector. While the state government assures that the beaches of Tabasco are in optimal conditions to receive tourists during Holy Week, travel agencies have opted not to include some coastal destinations in their packages, particularly in the Paraíso municipality. Governor Javier May Rodríguez disseminated a message on social networks where he affirmed: 'The Tabasco beaches are ready to receive families this Holy Week.' The president of the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV), Jorge Luis Ruiz Pérez, stated that there are currently no conditions to promote beaches with reports of hydrocarbons. 'No, we do not yet have figures (for losses), in fact, we are already talking that this weekend the vacation season begins. This after, over the weekend, fishermen complained that crude oil continues to arrive in this place and their nets have been damaged when they go out to sea. In the video, through testimonials and images, it is ensured that there are no contaminants present.'
