The Secretariat of Sustainable Development of Querétaro (Sedesu) announced the creation of the "Business Merit Award," which will recognize companies distinguished for their actions in the areas of competitiveness, foreign trade, social responsibility, science and technology, as well as sustainability and environmental responsibility. According to the publication in the official newspaper La Sombra de Arteaga, the award will be given annually with the objective of "fostering conditions, opportunities, and support to maintain the pace of dynamic, sustainable, balanced, and equitable economic growth" of the state's economic sectors. The award will include the five aforementioned categories. Additionally, it will grant the "State Quality Award" to honor the quality of products from companies in the state. For applicants, the secretariat will launch a call on its official internet page, as well as in La Sombra de Arteaga. In the Competitiveness category, it will recognize companies that improve the quality of their production processes; in Foreign Trade, those that increase and diversify the sales of their products abroad; in Social Responsibility, those that have positive repercussions on society; in Science and Technology, those who contribute to sustainable development with scientific and innovative work; and in Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility, those that take actions to reduce the effects generated by climate change. Also, Sedesu will grant special awards to the Executive, Entrepreneur, and Businessperson of the Year. Once registered, interested parties will be subject to analysis by an evaluation committee, which will be in charge of selecting the winners. The award will include obtaining a medal, as well as the right to permanently use the logo of the award.
