During his tour of Asia, the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, held meetings with more than 30 leading companies, promoting the benefits of Nuevo León as a strategic destination for Japanese investment.
At the Embassy of Mexico in Japan, the governor met with the CEOs of these Japanese companies, to whom he stated that today the entity offers conditions that no other state in the Republic can provide. In the current administration (2021-2026), the confirmation of 13 new strategic projects has been achieved, representing an investment of 800 million dollars and the generation of more than 4,000 new job openings.
Additionally, Samuel García held a meeting with CEOs of various Japanese companies, some of which have a presence in Nuevo León. The meeting took place at the Mexican Embassy and was attended by companies such as Ana Holding; Denso Corporation; Fujita Corporation; H.I.S. "Today Nuevo León is living its best moment, we are undoubtedly number one in all of Latin America in terms of economy, investment, employment, records, and that motivates me to invite you to continue investing, trusting, and of course, joining us in Nuevo León," highlighted the Governor.
Similarly, during the meeting, various companies expressed their interest in expanding their operations and making new investments in the entity, driven by the business environment, infrastructure, human talent, and the strategic location of the state. "Very important investments are coming, around 1.5 trillion dollars from Japanese companies in the automotive, domestic sector; in the end, this will translate into many jobs, I am calculating more than 7 or 8 thousand jobs that will be generated in Nuevo León and with them we will continue to be number one in economy, foreign investment, and employment," he pointed out.
After the meeting, the Governor of Nuevo León held an encounter with representatives of Yazaki Corporation, a company that to date has invested 36.5 million pesos in the State and has four plants in San Nicolás. Likewise, García Sepúlveda also met with Mitsubishi Electric seeking Japanese investment for the new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) assembly plant in Nuevo León.
During the first stage of his tour in Japan, he held a meeting with the Executive Director of Nissan to strengthen the institutional relationship between the corporation and Nuevo León and explore future collaboration opportunities that promote the state's economic development, innovation, and competitiveness.
The state governor highlighted that the state is a strategic part of its supply chain in Mexico, concentrating more than 300 companies in the automotive sector, so he pointed out that there are opportunities to deepen the linkage with Nissan in segments such as electromobility, industrial digitization, and the development of strategic suppliers, in line with the technological evolution of the sector globally.
Another of the governor's meetings was with Panasonic Holdings, with whom he addressed the current investment projects of the company in Nuevo León and future plans. In Mexico, Panasonic Holdings Corporation has more than 35 years of presence and has consolidated relevant operations in different states, including Nuevo León, where it stands out for its participation in the manufacturing and automotive sectors, with facilities in municipalities such as Apodaca and Escobedo.
Japan is globally recognized for its innovation and quality, maintaining a solid presence in the entity with a history of 68 registered projects, which generate more than 7,000 jobs.
