Baja California positions itself as one of the most dynamic labor entities in the country. According to the state government, led by Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, the state ranks fifth in Mexico for the highest annual growth rate in formal employment, with a 2.4% increase in workers insured with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). This result places Baja California among the state economies with the best labor performance, reflecting a favorable environment for investment and opportunity generation. According to the latest figures, by the end of March 2026, the entity reached a total of 1 million 49,429 formal jobs registered with the IMSS, consolidating a solid and steadily growing labor base. Likewise, during the first quarter of the year, 54,526 new formal jobs were generated, which accounts for the economic dynamism of the border region and its contribution to national growth. "These results reflect that in Baja California, real conditions are being created for more people to access formal employment, with stability and benefits," highlighted Governor Marina del Pilar. The state government emphasized that this positive trend strengthens the competitiveness of Baja California at the national level, consolidating it as a benchmark in job creation and economic development.
