The government has increased toll rates on highways in Mexico. The cost for cars rose from 54 to 56 pesos; for buses, it increased from 229 to 251 pesos; and for heavy transport, the maximum fare went from 641 to 703 pesos. On the toll road to Celaya, the fee for cars increased from 102 to 107 pesos; for motorcycles, from 51 to 53 pesos; for buses, from 205 to 225 pesos; and for cargo trucks, the maximum rose from 544 to 596 pesos. At the Libramiento Sur Poniente toll booth, which connects to the road to San Luis Potosí, the tariff increased from 96 to 100 pesos for cars and from 48 to 50 pesos for motorcycles. For buses, the charge went from 176 to 196 pesos; and for heavy trucks, the maximum cost increased from 486 to 533 pesos. Additionally, at the Libramiento Sur Poniente toll booth that connects the free road to Celaya with the toll road, the price increased from 14 to 15 pesos for cars, buses, and cargo transport; for motorcycles, it remained at 7 pesos. Finally, on the Querétaro-Apaseo El Alto highway, the toll for cars was updated from 47 to 49 pesos; for motorcycles, from 23 to 24 pesos; for buses, from 90 to 99 pesos; and for heavy transport, the maximum fare went from 245 to 269 pesos. It is worth mentioning that Capufe makes tariff adjustments every year on the 42 highway sections and 28 bridges where it charges tolls, which is allocated for the maintenance, operation, and modernization of its road network. This is according to information from Capufe (Caminos y Puentes Federales de Ingresos y Servicios Conexos). According to the update, the toll at the Palmillas toll booth for cars is now 113 pesos, whereas it was previously 108 pesos. The federal government increased toll rates at its toll booths across the country by up to 9.7%, including those that pass through the state of Querétaro.
