Employee well-being has ceased to be an 'extra' and has become one of the most powerful strategies within companies. Experts indicated this, assuring that today organizations that prioritize people achieve better results, greater innovation, and more committed teams. Under the idea that 'when one grows, we all grow,' Ruth Valdés and Enrique Fernández, leaders of BBVA Mexico, reflected on the importance of connecting personal purpose with that of the organization to build more human, sustainable, and high-performance work environments. 'People don't resign from a bank, people resign from their boss,' both leaders agreed during a forum organized by Tecmilenio. What are the keys to professional development? During the dialogue, both executives confirmed that professional development and personal well-being are today central factors in transforming work culture within organizations. Therefore, they highlighted that some organizations are taking action to create inclusive, safe, and trusting spaces where collaborators can develop fully. Additionally, Ruth Valdés, Director of Culture and Commitment and Professional Development, explained that professional growth can occur in three dimensions: in the daily role, in transversal functions, and through vertical promotion. However, she emphasized that the decisive element is that each person takes an active role in their own evolution: 'The fundamental thing is that each person feels like the protagonist of their development. The bank offers tools and resources, so it depends on the attitude and purpose of each collaborator,' she added. Meanwhile, Valdés assured that well-being is essential for innovation, and that only in safe spaces can people show their best version.
