The head of the Secretariat of Agricultural Development of Querétaro, Rosendo Anaya Aguilar, reported that more than 100 million pesos were allocated to boost productivity in the state's agriculture. Of this amount, 70 million were assigned to equipment, machinery, and technology, while another 20 million were directed to the irrigation modernization program.
Anaya Aguilar highlighted that this funding benefited various sectors such as beekeepers, aquaculturists, livestock farmers, farmers, and fruit tree producers, especially in the areas of Cadereyta and Peñamiller. The main objective was to strengthen rural workers so they could continue to develop their activities sustainably.
The official emphasized that a similar investment has been maintained compared to previous years, but on this occasion, the budget for emergency situations, such as drought, was increased. He clarified that the mentioned figure corresponds only to the state budget, as producers also contribute a part, raising the total fund for strengthening the sector to more than 200 million pesos.
On the other hand, it was mentioned that the implementation of the "peso for peso" program is underway in municipalities such as Pinal de Amoles, San Joaquín, San Juan del Río, and Huimilpan. These places will receive support to promote their productive activities, with tailored actions to address their specific needs. Currently, agreements are being formalized to identify the resources to be invested in the last months of the year in these regional initiatives.
